Steve: I don't see how self-awareness can be applied to the social level. Ron: > Question: where would one place the act of pre-intellectual awareness > As arrived at via an intellectual pattern?. Does it still qualify as a > concept Or is it a state of being? It could be argued that all > concepts > are states of being but are all states of being concepts? Thoughts? Steve: Pirsig says in Lila, "Dynamic Quality is the pre-intellectual cutting edge of reality, the source of all things, completely simple and always new." So pre-intellectual awareness may be equated with DQ. I think some would also argue that it is to be equated with Quality.
