Steve:
I don't see how self-awareness can be applied to the social level.

Steve:
Pirsig says in Lila, "Dynamic Quality is the pre-intellectual cutting  
edge of reality, the source of all things, completely simple and  
always new." So pre-intellectual awareness may be equated with DQ. I  
think some would also argue that it is to be equated with Quality.
