Ron, you like this cultural notion. It seems to
tidy 'things' up for you. I asked you this long ago,
but never did get an answer, but I would like to know.
Do you believe that you can learn about other
cultures? If so, are you learning about these other
cultures or are you really just learning about your
culture? For example: your a U.S. citizen living in
the U.S. somewhere in PA and you go to another
culture, let's say Thailand (to make it more of a
cultural shock). Would you be able to learn about
Thailand (some acculturation and/or assimilation) or
would you only be learning about the U.S. in Thailand?
You seem to state that a cultural perspective is set
in stone or something, these questions would clarify
more.
