Pirsig says in Lila, "Dynamic Quality is the pre-intellectual cutting
edge of reality, the source of all things, completely simple and
always new." So pre-intellectual awareness may be equated with DQ. I
think some would also argue that it is to be equated with Quality.

Aren't DQ and Quality merely intellectual patterns, Pre-intellectual a
concept. They are describing a state of mind. The one I was referring
to.
