John:  Really?  How so?  First let me explain what I meant.  It is the 
resistance of the scientific world view to religious control which is most 
responsible for the teaching that values are subjective.  Academics especially, 
shudder at the slippery slope implicit in the idea that chemistry professors 
could come from anything but a randomly fortuitous arrangement of chemicals.  
Thus the promulgation of the world view that they deem best suited to protect 
their power and prestige.  

Sorta reminds me of poor old' Socrates' persecution at the hands of the 
Sophists.  Even tho he was just interested in truth.
