R. T.:

I was disappointed to read your commentary on our
Mayor. I really thought you were above that.

Airport pollution is an important issue, but not
the ONLY issue facing Minneapolitans.

I would be very interested in hearing on the list
the detailed information on the positive things
you, yourself have done for the whole City of
Minneapolis in the same time period that Sharon
has been Mayor.

I think it is very easy to criticize a person for
not doing everything that everyone wants them to
do, especially when they are in positions to try
to balance all of the issues that the city faces.
When we ourselves don't have to be held to the
same standards that we hold the person we are
criticizing, some seem to find a laundry list of
things that they know is humanly impossible for
one person to resolve in a short period of time.

In that I know the airport issues have been of
concern to you, I am surprised that you haven't
solved these issues yourself. I would be
interested in seeing why you haven't been able to
solve these issues the last 8 years, and how you
see yourself doing something different in the
next four years.

I believe that in this Mayoral race, I would like
a spreadsheet developed on all of the issues of
concern to the people in the city of Minneapolis
and then I would like to see what each candidate
has done on each issue to date.

It is very easy to say what you WILL do, but much
harder to be accountable for your own past
personal and public behavior. So I am anxious
for some type of issues spreadsheet to be
developed. I think it will keep this name
slinging down to a minimum and also we will find
out what really has been done by each candidate.

Those that are running for mayor, hopefully made
this decision a long time ago, based on their
past work with ALL of the citizens of
Minneapolis.

One a very personal note. I take the accusations
about Sharon being absent from the 8th Ward very
seriously and personally. That was the Ward that
I attended Kindergarten through 12th grade. I
raised my children in the 8th Ward. My ties for
the past 50 years have been in the 8th Ward.

Sharon is an integral part of the 8th Ward and
will always be. There are some legitimate
criticisms of the mayor, but this is not one of
them.

No one can be everything to everybody and be
honest!
