As the host for today's stop in Nokomis I want to clear up the actual reason the
Mayor was in my neighborhood. The focus at Lake Nokomis today was the environment
and the accomplishments made in cleaning up our lakes. The Mayor has been the Chair
of the Chain of Lakes Clean Water Partnership and the Lakes Nokomis and Hiawatha Blue
Water Partnership and is justifiably proud of the improvements we have made to the
jewels of our city during the 8 years she has been Mayor. I will speak to verify her
active involvement because 8 years is the same amount of time I have been on the
Minnehaha Creek Watershed Board. She has been there to work hard and to champion the
cause. Certainly, there is more to do but we have made some great strides.
