Labor does not always endorse incumbents. In my last reelection campaign, Building
Trades, Teamsters , Police Federation and the State Police guys all endorsed my
primary opponent. AFSCME and AFL-CIO did not endorse for the primary but AFL-CIO
endorsed me after. I was grateful to MAPE, UAW and Education Minnesota that let me add
Labor endorsed to my lit. What was the effect? I won all elections easily!! and had
lots of invigorated campaign workers.
