This shows the AFL-CIOs predictable dedication to unprogressive
candidates. It is hard to have sympathy for labor - or at least its
dead-head bosses - with such mindless lock-step endorsements.

Does endorsing Belton mean endorsing out-of-control cops? That's how I see
it. Presumably the AFL-CIO has some cheap way of ducking responsibility
for this and all similar compromises with justice. 

I find these policies little better than those of the amoral corporations.
It makes unions look bad. Maybe they don't care.
