I talked with a few folks who had been to the last Dysfunctional Family
Foodfight known as a CNIA meeting last September at the 9th Ward
convention. A Park Av Methodist Church member at the convention made the
point that the Mayor was asked to come to this, and was missing in action
here (another instance of the "invisible mayor")..... This same delegate
mentioned that Brian Herron seems to tell different groups of people
different things. I remember Brian telling me in a phone conversation that
he was opposed to City funding for pro-sports stadium. I found out later
in the paper, that Herron's position on this was different than he had told
me. I don't appreciate being lied to. Now maybe Herron didn't actually
lie in the same way that Clinton didn't lie because of some ambiguity in
the meaning of the word "is"... but at minimum, Herron mislead me when I
called him to ask him what position he was planning to take on the issue.
Anyway, I will go to this Family Festival, and I would also be interested
in knowing where all 8th ward council candidates stand on this reallocating
$120 K (or thereabouts) of NRP funds into the CNIA general fund....
