**Everyone's behavior counts in creating the fabric of the neighborhood. And
everyone comes to the neighborhood celebrations and meetings as they are. Some
come and create havoc, but they only do so when we allow them to do so. At the
debacle annual meeting last May two groups of people came, not to create
problems, one group came with the notion that they could solve problems of
exclusion. Mixed in among them were those who, not being on the winning team,
wanted the whole organization to cave in and cease breathing, some of them with
an ax to grind from years ago. Still, it was a palace coup, the "winners" were,
in part, members of the previous board who were tired of being treated like
mouse ca-ca by some of the other members of the board. It was 10 months ago.
Let's move on.

I don't believe that for a minute. He tussles with every vote until the moment
it happens. Too, as a CM, he does get to disagree with the people on the block
who have an advisory relationship with the city council. None of the rules say
they have to accept the advice each and every time.

Eva, you go all wonky around what you hear and read. If he had opposed the
subsidy you would have heard it clearly. He would not lead you to believe
anything other. He's a rare bird at city hall, he's honest.

Nobody likes the racial tension in Central, but nothing is going to change that
until each of us changes our attitudes toward other races. We have danced
around this issue for the last twenty years that I can personally attest to, but
we have NEVER taken the bull by the horns and worked through the issues.

You have to sit through the endless meetings month after month to really
appreciate how stuff happens or fails to happen.WMarks, Central
