I can't comment on the master section issues, but................
Yes, I'd suggest pulling everything out before relocating the console.
Depending on how far its going and how well it can be tied down, you may
want to cut some 2" x 4"s to brace the empty frame across both dimensions.
Regarding the power supplies, chances are they both could use a rebuild
by this point. As for which one is best; you could monitor the output
voltage of each rail under full load checking for absolute DC value,
stability, and ripple. This may lead you to the one that should be rebuilt
first anyway. It's certainly possible that either unit could test just fine
like this, but blow up next week too.

the Elan just kind of floats / hangs off of the master module. Have
a look at those connections.

index finger to an open area in the middle of the panel, and the
meters jumped back to normal. I still have some meter weirdness
