If you want to own both, buy both. The upgrade is just that, you are
moving from NC2 to NC3. If you trade in your car for a newer model, you
don't expect to keep the old car too.

Maybe if people were more honest, this wouldn't be an issue. After NC2
came out, Active received a lot of registrations and support enquiries
from new "owners" of NC1, copies that had already been registered under
a different name.
