I can't think of any other reason for welds on a fork tube other than it being wrecked. If the upper tubes have welds, I wouldn't trust riding it. Not a big deal or cost to get new fork sets off ebay, though if it was wrecked hard enough to damage forks, then there could also be frame damage. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T
