My point was that they are over engineered machines albeit very nice, and that 
even what should be a "basic" bike could be a maintenance nightmare to do 
yourself. Also costly to pay someone else to do the work.

I was just thinking about that Allen. Although it is probably unfair to
give an impression about all bmw's based on one single model, I think it is
well known that parts and labor are always very expensive and complicated.
IMHO they are also a bit overpriced.
