Please note: I did not notice when this went in. Maybe it was there all
along. But as posted on the OGF web site:

"THIS LICENSE IS APPROVED FOR GENERAL USE. PERMISSION TO DISTRIBUTE THIS
LICENSE IS MADE BY WIZARDS OF THE COAST!

"OPEN GAME LICENSE Version 1.0..."

If, by some chance, they should try to revoke permission in the future, they
will have to change this text. That, in my non-lawyerly opinion, renders it
a NEW document. You still have permission in writing to use the original
document to your heart's content.

Furthermore:

"9. Updating the License: Wizards or its designated Agents may publish
updated versions of this License. You may use any authorized version of this
License to copy, modify and distribute any Open Game Content originally
distributed under any version of this License."

So even if you're not using the "latest" version for permission concerns,
you're still legal using the version 1.0 published as of 9/16/2000.

Since I never understood the original concerns -- my limitations, not
yours -- I am unsure whether this addresses them or not. But it certainly
looks like an effort to address them.
