I'm quite happy writing D20 stuff and playing totally within the rules. I'm not interested in forcing WOTC to change the license, and I certainly don't want to get them generally p****d. My interest is more 'theory of game design' than anything else. Mostly, I'm looking for a rebuttal to "All D20 (STL-compliant) games *HAVE* to be class/level" -- if one exists. And, as noted, I simply like to play with ideas. I do not believe such thought-experiments are harmful to the license, as I greatly doubt I will ever come up with anything which hasn't been considered by WOTCs lawyers long ago. I think as D20-based games aquire market share of their own, we'll see more OGL/non-D20 supplements. I can imagine, in a year, a "Spycraft Advanced Players Guide" or a "Dragonstar Deluxe" which leverages the recognition gained from the D20 logo into a truly standalone game. (These are arbitrary examples; I have no reason to believe either product has even been considered at the appropriate companies.) _______________________________________________ Ogf-l mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.opengamingfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/ogf-l
