If all reports have Wizards of the Coast acting in one way, it is reasonable to assume that they shall continue to act that way, especially in the absence of any statement as to how they'll act. >Worse, every time the license gets updated there will be a few 'anecdotal' >changes that could have an unforseen impact on publishers of existing >products. People who follow the spirit license will be in the majority that won't be harmed by any changes--or alterted rather early if they would be. A licenses evoloving over time until it is *exactly* what Wizards wants is a good thing, IMO. Especially if this building isn't only changes to the license itself, but clear examples (not undocumented and essentially useless "anectodes") that show how Wizards thinks the license should work. >If you have a cool idea that gets close to describing the effects of >experience or level advancement or character creation then drop the logo and >save us all a lot of grief. > > Or, release it in a draft form as a real product (free web download should work; pay-for web download should also work) to save yourself, and make public all details about how Wizards deals with you. (i.e., if you pull your product because "Wizards thinks that section A5 is in violation of the d20STIL", then by all means say so.) Enhanced communication--not fearful toestepping around wizards--will save us all a lot of grief.
