NO, XFree86 4.0 will not be out before second half 2000. At present the snapshot version is runing at 3.95.16
the xx.xx.16 number is bumped to a,b, c, and d every second week, then a puclic snapshot is released. So count it on fingers how long it might take to release a final version of XF 4.0. I will not be suprised it would be released at the end of year 2000 or early 2001. Per last week message from XF86 Developers, the 3.3.6 and 3.3.7 and a few more versions of 3.3.x will be rleased during last (oops typo... last = next) 12 months, before releasing a final version of XF86 4.0 Voodoo3 is hardware accelerated in 3.3.5,but only in fullscreen no mood it offers 3D, no 3D support in windows. OpenGL is not hardware accelerated for any card. Suhaib
