Centos being late if it is comped with RHEL, if it is community effort you could never grantee immediate patch/fix. it is proven that the community patches could be released before paid support linux. I used "could" as you might find some volunteer posted the patch in the ML and the updates were not pushed as fast as the patch produced. the question is, do you grantee that the issue that may be found on centos release will not be found in other distros in the same time, including the paid linux distros? Paid support is the only grantee. they should have support contract with a local company; at least they can find work around for the issues. If they want to be in the compliance then local support + global distro support :)
