I agree 200% -- thank you for this clear and unambiguous statement. Note that the "hands-off" requirement extends to any third-party application that the customer might want to deploy during initial installation. So far, that requirement could be catered for by using the mechanisms available in SVR4 packages (i.e. pre/post-Scripts, CAS).
