Hello Percy,

Blanket statements like that are rarely very useful... With SP1 coming
out very soon, Vista will become the mainstream Windows version of
choice. With each new version of Windows, there are always naysayers
who say "don't use it, it's slow and has lots of bugs", and in the
end, they just end up switching later than everyone else, which
results in having less time to get used to it before it becomes
important to use it full time.
Personally, I have been using Vista off and on since it came out,
triple-booting with XP and Fedora for the more day-to-day dev stuff.
When I started my new job in December, the machine I got came with
Vista so I started using it 100% of the time at work. And I just
finished transferring my home machine (the one that previously
triple-booted) to Vista as my only Windows (but still with Linux :-).
I can honestly say that after some workflow adjustments on my part,
and a few settings adjustments, I am pretty happy with it and do not
see a significant difference in performance. Some games have
compatibility problems, but most can be resolved easily. Dev work runs
smoothly too.
Do yourself a favor and at least start checking it out. You know
you'll switch eventually, as you did to XP... :-)
