I'm totally guessing, but perhaps setting the max particle size smaller and the number of particles larger will help, as perhaps your particles are large enough to be touching the terrain and thereby being culled? More smaller particles might show some noticable difference...again, I'm totally guessing. I hope someone else can provide some help here. Are Joseph's tutorials up to date even? I haven't looked there in a long time. Sorry can't be more help. -c
