Hi Herb, I think I just blew it modem wise - at least temporarily. I downloaded and installed Mac Modem Magic and no options other than MMM iMac 33,600 come up in Modem CP. So I checked my Modem scripts folder in the extensions folder and the modem installer it seems, has trashed all my other scripts. I thought that was only supposed to happen with OS 10.
