I know it's not technically a Mac, but Power Computing's PowerTower Pro is an
excellent 9500/9600 clone with a case that's easy to work in, if not quite as easy as
that of the 9600. I've been using mine for years and have upgraded it with a Sonnet
G3/450 card and an ATA/66 card (with 2 attached ATA drives) with no problems.

The fastest PowerTower Pro came with a 250 MHz processor card, which is, as far as I
know, the fastest (non-Mach V) 604e card ever made. The processor cards are
interchangeable among PCI Macs and the PowerTower Pro models, and probably with
SuperMac J700 and S900 models, though IIRC the cards that came with the SuperMacs are
too big for some of the other machines.

One of the S900 models, BTW, also came with a 250 MHz 604e card. From my own
experience and from what I've read on some of these lists, though, the SuperMacs are
more problematic than the Apple and Power Computing machines, especially regarding the
PCI slots.
