Ralph.....I have win2k on this machine and I see the programs loading on
startup by going where Peter suggests.......contol panel>administrative
tools>services....they are all listed there.....msn instant messenger, my
antivirus, etc

What I was trying to find out is if there is a program to run, that is
similar to MSCONFIG, for which user programs are getting loaded (NOT
part of windows itself which in NT and 2K is TOO complex) and ability to
prevent/allow the programs from/to getting loaded on the next bootup.

Am finding that the whole bootup process in NT and 2K is much more
complex than anything have seen previous in Win9.x.
