How do I make this happen?

thanks

I've NAD 320 (obviously not as good as your audio gear, Bill) and
recently my brother and I made HTPC. He's given me relatively good
quality 3.5"-to-stereo cable and that was the whole deal. The NAD still
cannot accept digital sound, so why bother?

Yeah, good point. I guess so that on the rare occasions I want music off of something other than junk computer speakers I can do it. As long as I can get an analog signal to the back of the amp, I'm in business. Pretty sure I can still get a card that will do that.
