FYI, the Airport Express has optical S/PDIF digital output. I'm using
that to output music to my AV receiver. The optical ouput is combined
in the same physical jack as the 3.5mm analog jack.
good point i forgot that; though it presents the same problem to William that
he'd need a DAC for his system; the cheap DAC in the Airport Express (or
anything else that uses 16-bit lossless streaming) would still probably sound
better than Bluetooth audio
