Are we asking too much nowadays for things > to get done right, or should I have told her my true feelings? You should have told her the job wasn't to your satisfaction, and asked her to redo it. You should have done this in a level headed and reasonable manner, without expressing either anger or disdain. Now you have put yourself in the difficult position of having to go back to the shop and apologizing to them for your accepting substandard work, and then asking them to redo the job correctly. We are not robots in this industry, we are people, we make mistakes. We are willing to fix them if you let us. If you decide to buy crap, you deserve to get crap. If you have never made a mistake in your life, you have the right to have an attitude problem with the lab. Just don't expect to get good service if you go in there and make them feel stupid.
