Which codecs are not working? I have been able to get totem to work
with xine and mplayer to work now also. Mplayer has also come out
with w64 codecs recently so that has helped. The main things are
getting flash and java to work.

The only thing to point out here is that the codec's won't work on the
64bit platform (to my knowledge). I'm more inclined to go this route
when the 64bit starts to become more mainstream.

.. and its even better to ignore it completely :-)

After a couple of "just playing" installs I decided to give the AMD64
install a go and see how far I got.

It installed faster, and now runs *much* faster (in the little areas you
notice: speed for menus to open etc). Beryl is running fine, Wine is
installed (albeit not from a supported repository), the Nvidia binary
drivers are working fine too.

So far I think I'm inclined to see how far I get with the AMD64 but will
keep the list posted with success.
