Good for you. That should teach the seller a lesson. John Pisano <[email protected]> wrote: Thanks for your thoughts - It was supposed to be fully insured. As it turns out the seller insured it for less then the amount I requested. It didn't make a difference because it was not packed to UPS standards so they denied the claim. This time it was not UPS's fault. There was almost no packing material, just a little newspaper. Here are a few more pictures of what it looked like when I opened the box. Just picture a few pieces of crumpled newspaper on top.

Most sellers aren't set up to except credit cards, but if they except PayPal the buyer has the option of using his credit card or bank account to pay for an item. Choose the credit card option. This was the only way I was able to get my money back. The seller refused stating it wasn't their fault because it was insured. UPS denied the claim. PayPal only covers the first $1,000 if you are lucky, plus they are almost impossible to get in touch with. However your credit card company will go to bat for you. They can do what is called a chargeback. A chargeback is where the money paid to the retailer is reversed out of their account and refunded to yours. Of course you have to have good reason and facts to back up your case. I am still going through the process but have been credited. Paypal actually always takes the side of the seller. They are in the process of disputing the charge back with my bank, but don't think they have a case. _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list [email protected] Phono-L Archive http://www.oldcrank.org/pipermail/phono-l/
