You're creating a false dichotomy, Paul. The by-laws clearly define the role of the secretary within PHP-FIG. That role fits into multiple definitions of the term secretary, not the specific extremes you're suggesting. ("Secretary" roles diverge greatly based on the organization, as you yourself have pointed out. And, I might add, the term "assistant" itself has many connotations which can range from menial to executive tasks.) May I redirect, and ask: Why is this alleged clarification necessary? *You*, and you alone, are clamoring to define the role in narrower terms than are currently present in the by-laws. Moreover, you're putting the onus on *others* to define it, without declaring what exactly is insufficient about the definition presented in the by-laws. This gives you a perfect "out" when somebody does provide a definition: "that's not what I meant", or "that's still unclear". Frankly, if you are unhappy with the way the role is currently defined, then the onus is on *you* to present a by-law amendment detailing changes that will define the role in a way that you find acceptable, and then call for a review and a vote. Don't try and manipulate others into doing your work for you. -- Matthew Weier O'Phinney mweierophin...@gmail.com https://mwop.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "PHP Framework Interoperability Group" group.
