Pam, how are you doing? How long have you been sick? You sound like a very postive persom. I have had a bad day, losing hope. My doctor of course called me while I was on the computer and didn't get to talk to him. I went yesterday for my pathology report at the hospital where I had surgery in 2002. I wanted to know what kind of testing they did on the tumor. Looks like none. I am waiting on a GH test but the doctor is not in any hurry. I actually got to talk to the pathologist yesterday and he talked to my endo about running another ACTH test on the matter from the tumor. I ask him why they did not run the test at the time of the surgery and he said they did not carry the substance to do the test there. The lady that took me to him said yes we do, it's posted on paper on the computer. I guess all hospitals don't have what it takes to do certain test but they can send them off. He told me it would cost hundreds of dollars to run the test. I am so down. Can they not get enough money out of us. I actually e-mailed Dr. Ludlam at OHSU and he said I could have had a tumor they didn't get out. Mine had hemorraged and was a mess scooping it out. I am thinking they didn't get the tumor or the scarring from the hemorrage is causing the problems. My headaches are everday again. I am not one that can handle pain to well. These headaches never go away. If I wake up without one it will be there before the day is over. My back is hurting quit abit now. The bone density isn't to good. I keep hoping if I get the GH harmone it will build the bones and help the cholestrol to go down. I feel crappy because I can't work and help pay off some of these medical bills.
Pam are you able to work? There are people in my small town that have had these tumors removed and they are doing fine. Whats wrong with us on pituitary chat. There is one man that I know his wife and he had been taking 3 shots a day, I believe of the growth hormone and it has made him very sick. He had acromegaly. Does anyone out there deal with these bad headaches? They try to act like thats not a part of the illness but I know different. At least the doctors I have seen.  Lawana
