Lee, could you add in what the glucose levels were with each of the gh draws? I take it these were once an hour? Growth hormone has a twenty minute half-life and needs to be frozen right after it is spun. As far as the hypoglycemic goes, I believe, but am not at all sure, that some people react that way at higher levels of glucose. Minnie might know more about that. Your numbers are a bit weird. The second, third and fourth numbers do show suppression to <1 which should indicate you don't have acromegaly. However, the elevated IGF-1 shows you do. The final draw and baseline draw show you are producing too much growth hormone. Somewhat mixed results, but I would lean toward acromegaly. I wonder if the samples were properly handled? As I stated the individual glucose levels may be the key here. I had 75g of glucola the first draw when they didn't freeze the samples right away and 100g of glucola when they did it correctly. I will be interested in what the pit endo has to say. Keep us posted. Jean in Co. |
