Reply   Recommend Message 12 in Discussion From: Michiganlee1 Thanks for the help!  I've decided to keep my Oct 18 appointment, but if he treats me like he did last time, I'm definitely going to go somewhere else.  I've heard of Dr. Melmed, and he does sound very good.  There has to be a reason my IGF-1 is so elevated.  I'm not buying his theory that I just have normally high IGF-1.  All of these problems started 2 years ago after the birth of my third child (about a year after I had a normal IGF-1 test).  I've read that IGF-1 goes up during pregnancy.  I have to wonder if being pregnant "kickstarted" something.
