I was terrified. I think deep down I thought I’d be
fine, but I had read about so many risks and things that could go wrong, that I
had myself worked into a frenzy. I cried so much prior to surgery. See, I
have 2 little girls, and I was so scared that I wouldn’t wake up to watch
them grow up. So, your fear is normal, and I’m sure many others out here
felt scared as well.

But, in the end, nothing went wrong with the surgery, and I
didn’t experience any severe problems post surgery. I had my surgery on
Monday morning at 8:00 am, was in ICU by 4:00 PM that afternoon. Was moved to
a regular room Tuesday evening, and released Wednesday evening.

I do know that its important to have a doctor experienced
with pit tumors to ensure success.

They did go through my nose. An ENT worked with the neuron surgeon.
However, since my nose was smaller than normal, they had to break and move my
septum over. I think my main post surgery came from that. I did have one
stitch on the outside of my nose where my nose tore a little and instead of
packing, I had splints. They didn’t hurt, just felt
strange/uncomfortable. The nice thing was that the splints had tunnels in
them, so I could spray saline/nose sprays through them and could breath through
them somewhat. Having the splints removed did not hurt me at all, just felt
strange/uncomfortable.
