To explain what I did, 1. I downloaded gazebo-0.8-pre3.tar.gz form SourceForge Download Page 2. Installed all required 3rd libraries including ode 0.8.0, OGRE 1.4.9 3. go to gazebo-0.8-pre3 directory 4. run scons 5. sudo su , then scons install
I'm a newbie to Linux so I'm not quite sure what exactly Luis said mean. But I think he is probably right, I might using the root user. By the way, now I'm trying to install the last version from svn which Luis recommended. It seems different from the 0.8-pre3 version. Am I correct that I have to upgrade ode to 0.11.1 and OGRE to 1.6.4 as well?
