I tend to disagree. Mandrake Linux for example has over 4000 packages in
its latest incarnation. I _would not_ want to :
1. accept the default installation and install hundreds of packages i
would not even touch
2. go through the list of packages one by one, selecting and deselecting
what packages i like or dislike, thereby wasting my time in front of the
PC.
I would like to pop a CD into the drive, let it boot and it install
_exactly_ what i want it to install. The packages in the CD are only
those that i need, nothing more or less.
This is the nature of the Redhat CD that Q-Linux made (kickstart), and the
mandrake 7.2 i installed in linux10.
So this calls for custom RPMS, custom package configs all built into a
modified RH or MDK distro.
