AOC monitors are good too! Taiwanese brand with 20+ yrs xp pts.  less
expensive as usual compared to Viewsonic.  get the 7GLR version over the
7VLR when choosing among it's 17" line up. it's much crisper because it 
has finer dot pitch.  

pero basically, any CRT bigger than 15" needs a larger and more
stable table. bigat kasi eh.

but the most important is knowing how to adjust it's 'refresh rate'
to protect your eyes. you must set your video card adapter's refresh
rate to at least 72hz (the monitor repaints the screen 72 times per
second).  this will prevent flickering and eyestrain (not the
cracker) from attacking you. it works really.  

it's hard to notice flickering but what you can do is look at the
monitor in full white display colors using your peripheral vision to
notice it easily. if it still flickers, pump up the refresh rate and
save your eyes =)
