Silly me. I was thinking of the source stream, not the stream from my
sound card.

Being fairly new to SB, and still very unclear as to the underlying
software architecture, I'm not sure where I could be encoding the wav
to flac. In the SB file types section under Wave input I have flac,
MP3 and PCM all going to Wavin2cmd (flac, lame,). Under WAV I have
flac to sox, MP3 to lame, PCM to Native. I haven't deliberately
disabled anything. Should I?

Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
