If bufferthreshold is set too small - you will get stuttering. However I think the bufferthreshold used to have a max of 255kB - it is the lower threshold at which point streaming starts. I would need to examine SBS code to find exact meaning of the value threshold setting and whether it has changed recently.
What players are you using Touch, radio, SB3, Boom ... There were some changes to players firmware which may be the issue - not the SBS s/w. Some security s/w don't like the wavin2cmd program and examine its bytestreams and can block it.
