I doubt the server upgrade will make much of a difference. The problem at hand is that all the data for the artwork needs to be read from disc.
This should be a one-time issue, though, since the server will cache the artwork thumbnails once they are generated. Plus, 8000 tracks really is not a lot. Could it be that the App tries to read too many artwork thumbs simultaneously?
