The thing about the Wegener Media machines is that they are Rev 2. Logic boards..

The $50 specials on eBay are usually Rev 1. logic boards which don't like slave drives or drives greater than 10gb.

On DealRam.com, 128mb Dimms are $9 each with Free Shipping. 256mb are $20.00 each.

So, it's not that expensive to kick a B&W G3 up a couple of notches.

And usually, you can remove the Blue Apple Jumper Block, and using some $1.29 set of jumpers from Radio Shack, kick the stock processor up 50mhz.

I bought a Radeon 7000 PCI Card for mine for $32, and passed the 16mb ATI card onto another B&W that had the older card that wasn't MacOS X compatible.

My PowerCenter 132 has a 601 225mhz Upgrade in it, and works fine as a MacOS 9.2.2 machine.

Since it's a 7200 Logic Board based machine, and Ryan doesn't seem to be working on supporting them, it probably NEVER will run MacOS X.

But, it's a fine machine as is.. With 256mb of RAM, a Zip 100 Drive, 8gb HDD, and MacOS 9.
