I too do not feel like having separate applications for current E-Mail
and not-so-current E-Mail. Since we're talking about simple and usually
rather small text files, I also feel it should be quite possible to
manage without having to resort to archiving applications and
complicated exchange mechanisms. On a box that can handle 3-D
animations in Maya reasonably well, this should not really be that much
of a problem, IMHO.
Re: smart to:/from: columns -- Mailsmith does have this, I think;
however, I was not able to get it to work with my imported mails, which
have gone from Eudora to Entourage.X (and, for now, to Apple's
Mail.app). But them importing is never easy, it appears: mails sent by
me in Eudora are imported and stamped with today's date and time in
PowerMail.
