hi Ben, >Congratulations, you've just shared your password with us (albeit in >base64 encoded form). I recommend you change it immediately. :)
yep, I'm clever like that.... Thanks for mentioning it, all changed now. >Well, it basically sounds like you have the wrong username/passwd. Or if >they're right, then your mail server is misconfigured. No? >Have you been able to send by SMTP AUTH using any other mail client? (in >other words, can you prove that it's PowerMail's fault?) Yep, your right. When I went to change my password I thought I'd check my keychain (I use another password application for most stuff), and what did I find? 8 copies of my email login. There were separate entries for pop and smpt but multiples of both. Somehow it seems that although I was entering the correct details in the powermail settings, powermail was pulling an old entry from my keychain. Anyway... I deleted all the keychain entries that powermail had added, re-entered my settings into powermail and I can send mail with authentication. phew. thanks a lot for all the help and advice. adam ---------------------------------- adam child limbomedia ltd. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] web: http://www.limbomedia.com
