hi list,

sorry this is my first post, I've had a hunt for some archives and on the
web and haven't been able to solve my problem.

I cannot send mail from powermail (4.1.3 os x) to my new mail server.
Everything worked fine with our old Cobalt box using pop before relay and
our fixed IP address which allowed us to send email without
authentication. Our new server (an Ensim box) requires me to
authenticate when I am sending mail. I can pick up mail fine, but using
the same details I cannot send mail.

The server reports the following error in the mail log:
NOQUEUE: [81.5.187.51] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during
connection to MTA

>hours of mail trouble later......

I found a work around for this problem but seemed to create another one.

I installed the powermail beta for "os x" to see if this would solve my
mail sending problems, which it didn't. I didn't import all my mail just
setup an account to test sending with. I managed to setup our server to
allow relaying from our static ip address which is fine for work in the
office but not for roaming on dialup. I can now send mail from this
account ok.

The new problem is, I can't send mail from any of my other accounts.
It's not that I get an error, I click send and the messages just sit in
the outbox marked as 'waiting'. There is no activity in the status
floating window. I've tried trashing my prefs but to no avail.

any ideas and input greatly appreciated.

thanks for the time,

adam
