Right, my bad in description, I realise that's what you meant.

Assumption is a bad thing, but I guess if you're not getting a 535
authentication failed, then they might be okay. :)

Interesting.  Do you have a transcript of the SMTP conversation?  I am
not versed in ESMTP so I don't really know much about how authorization
works (if you have an rfc number handy though I would be interested to
read up on it).

As I've indicated though, PM speaks to Courier without issue, so I would
be inclined to suggest that maybe your mail server isn't giving PM what
it wants to hear before doing the MAIL FROM... part.
