I don't think it is a bug. There are some global settings in OSX which are quite helpful. One appears to be the universal spell check which will stay in the English version for all programmes. It will also accept your custom words globally.

Part of this global aspect of defaults can be a problem. The Indesign2 update addresses PDF creation to the newest version instead of the earlier version in my custom setting. At least that is what seems to be the problem with some new PDFs which "fell down" at the printer.

Running 10.2.6 but this has been like this for the last couple of OS updates. I think it's just a minor bug as everything else has been working just fine (Famous last words!).
