The other point about the G5 is this...try running Final Cut Pro on a PC. I
had a mail for a PC based film maker mate the other day saying...gotta get a
mac gotta get FCP....

This editing software is taking the telly world by storm. FCP 4.0 costs �1k
and does all but everything that Avid can do for a fraction of the cost.

I cut my last film on FCP on my 500mhz single processor G4 here at home.
Real time DV capture and cutting, fine for off-line and it worked really
well. Better still, like PS, FCP is dual processor aware and now with the G5
giving you real time visual effects (dissolves etc), captioning, colour
correction and bags of other options including seamless integration with
Photoshop all in 64-bit, loads of Avid owners (with systems which cost
20/30/40/50k+ in their studios) in the telly biz are going to be poohing
their pants.
