We have used Macs for the last 12 years and apart from an annoying debacle
over a clone we have never had reason to complain.

In January 2004 we bought a G5 1.8 dual processor. In March, after two
months of moderate use, it comprehensively crashed. We took it back to the
local agent where we had purchased it and they replaced the motherboard and
took ten days to do it, depriving us also of the use of our new scanner and
our only DVD writer. We were glad that we no longer shoot assignments.

We were appalled by the time it took and the relatively unhelpful attitude
of Apple and their agents.

We have been preoccupied with other work and the computer has had relatively
little use since its repair. Yesterday, the same fault recurred and the
agent tells us that Apple will, under no circumstances, replace faulty
products and that it will take another week to carry out yet another repair.

This attitude and the delays are completely unacceptable.. Are we alone?
Or are there other users who have had similar problems? If so, is there
some avenue by which we can attract Apple's attention to the costs they
inflict on users by their delays and thereby reach a more satisfactory
solution. Or does anyone know of an approachable contact at Apple who
might actually talk about the problem?
