I must agree with this statement regarding French retailers :-), I bought an Apple care plan (very expensive indeed), but three times I had to post my Mac to the repair services they changed the mother board within three days, travel to Ireland included. Home delivery.

I had found the support very reliable, serviceable and kind.

I would suggest you to buy one as the desktops Apple Care allows you home repair and are far more inexpensive than the laptop's one.

Now I buy everything through the Apple Store.
